Wow I still can’t get over this day!
I was going to put this post in my ‘Phuket; Thailand’ post as that’s the location we were in when Arran proposed but I then decided that this was worth it’s own post. After all it was the best day of my life so far!!!!
I feel like crying writing this, I’m the luckiest girl in the world. I’ll try not to bore you all too much!
I was just sunbathing by the pool in the breathtaking hotel Sri Panwa – http://www.sripanwa.com, when I was told a photographer was coming to take some nice photographs of us (Me and Az). I was fuming that I was in a swimming costume and had wet pool hair haha I had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. Yes I’m vain!
So me and Arran are walking along the floating stones beside the pools and I am completely oblivious! I honestly thought we were having our photographs taken, I was frantically trying to fix my wet hair and soaking swimsuit haha!
Theres me posing for a photograph and the next minute Arran was down on one knee! I just burst into tears It was so unexpected! He was super nervous and just said “I love you will you marry me” (apparently he had planned a big speech but bottled it). I obviously said yes. The whole hotel erupted in applause and I just could not believe it, absolutely blessed. We posed for more photographs with the most beautiful ring and then headed to the bar to settle my nerves haha!!
I can’t put the experience into words! We had been together for over 5 years and it couldn’t had been anymore perfect! At the bar I had a million and one questions! Where had the ring been the whole holiday? How did you get the ring size right? How did you choose this perfect location? Poor Arran’s ears haha!! By this point I wasn’t crying I just couldn’t stop smiling until i asked… “Did you ask my Dad’s permission?”… Arran said “Yes and your Mum’s. 5 months ago”. That was it the water works had started again, what a true gentleman!

After I had calmed down (a little bit). I decided to FaceTime the family back in England! Mum was first – It was only early in the morning there but Mum was already in work, she was so happy for us and couldn’t stop smiling she was shouting everyone around her in the office to come and have a look whilst she tried to print screen the conversation ahah! I then tried to FaceTime my sister who was still asleep, typical, she was gutted later on that day when she was up and realised. My nanny was next, I’ll never forget this. So I’m smiling away showing her the ring all excited and she kept saying “You’re lying!” “Ashley this isn’t funny, stop lying” I could not stop laughing, she thought i was joking!!!! “Put Arran on the phone , I don’t believe you” haha, I had to get people around the pool to tell her it was actually real, she eventually realised it wasn’t a prank and was super happy for us and emotional!
That was it then for the rest of our travels I couldn’t help but show everyone my ring !!!
My family, family- in- law and friends are truly the best! When we came back to England they threw us the most amazing Engagement party, celebrating with everyone. I really am blessed.
I look back at the photographs of it all the time, It was perfect! I could never have dreamed it! Truly blessed.
